  • Students will be able to describe the role of health promotion and behavior in public health and in the health of our society.
  • Students will be able to discuss the history of health promotion and public health.
  • Students will be able to explain the theoretical bases for health promotion programming and discuss application for health promotion.
  • Students will be able to identify sources of health disparity and possible methods to reduce disparity.
  • Students will be able to explain ethical principles as applied to health promotion.
  • Students will be able to explain the importance of research, needs assessment, planning and evaluation in health promotion.
  • Students will be able to examine the influence of media, communication, and marketing on health promotion issues.
