Course Description

Advanced study of database systems. The course focuses on concepts, algorithms and technologies for relational, object-oriented and distributed database systems. Related technologies such as data warehouses and repositories will also be covered.

Course Objectives

Students will carry out state-of-the-art projects in database and information systems.


Topical Outline

The topics will vary. Possible topics include transaction management, object-oriented databases, XML databases, distributed/federated databases, Web-based information systems, workflow, repositories, data warehouses and data mining.
