Course Description

Applied instruction in media composition.

Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students are expected to produce longer, more complex, professional quality projects. In comparison to their undergraduate counterparts, graduate students are expected to use more advanced production techniques and develop denser, more narratively complementary, and/or stylized compositions.

Student learning Outcomes

  • Students will develop a media music portfolio (e.g., scoring media projects and/or composing/producing audio reels for video games).
  • Students will procure a better understanding of industry-standard dynamics and expectations, especially when applying to internships, assistantships, and/or for local opportunities.

Topical Outline

  • Weekly one-on-one instruction in media music composition in which students will develop projects that are tailored to their personal and professional interests.
