Course Description
UGA Choral Project is a highly select chamber choir designed to emulate the model and standards of a professional chamber choir. The number of singers will vary depending on the particular project. Auditions are open to everyone and will be advertised in advance of the first rehearsal. UGA Choral Project will rehearse and perform on a condensed timeline, and attendance at all rehearsals and performances is required. Full self-preparation of repertoire is expected.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
In addition to the minimum requirements, graduate students will serve as section leaders, mentor undergraduate singers, prepare program notes, promote the performances, and lead rehearsals in the absence of the instructor.

Course Objectives
-UGA Choral Project will provide UGA students a rehearsal and performance experience that imitates the model used by most professional choirs in the United States. -The course seeks to provide a professional audition experience to students. -The course gives students the experience of preparing themselves in advance of the first rehearsal. -The course seeks to provide a near-professional quality level of artistic accomplishment. -The course seeks to enhance the offerings of the choral area at UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music. -The course seeks to provide undergraduate and graduate students the experience of singing in a highly-accomplished chamber ensemble. -The course seeks to expose students to a significant choral repertoire appropriate for a chamber choir. -The course seeks to improve students listening, vocal, and ensemble skills.
