Course Description
Analysis of any kind first depends on the ability to research and evaluate sources effectively. This course will provide students with skills and vocabulary necessary for basic research in the modern American setting.

Student learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this, class students will be able to discuss the evolution of legal theories relating to privacy and misinformation, including libel, freedom of speech, and newsgathering privileges and ethics.
Upon completion of this class students, will be able to propose legislative and regulatory solutions for developing technological issues, such as deepfakes, artificial intelligence implementation, and children’s privacy and safety with regards to social media.
Upon completion of this class, students will be able to evaluate the reliability of resources using information literacy processes like the CRAAP Test and Caulfied’s SIFT/Four Moves.
Upon completion of this class, students will be able to utilize overarching database tools like linked metadata and filters.
