Nonprofit Financial Management


Course Description

For those with little or no prior training in accounting or financial administration, this course focuses on understanding and practicing foundational financial management practices, business planning, financial reporting, and fiscal decision-making in nonprofits. Covers a range of topics, including budgeting, financial statements, understanding revenue, accountability, and organizational fiscal health.

Course Objectives

1. Gain a foundational knowledge of and appreciation for financial management as it relates to nonprofit management. 2. Understand business planning processes and techniques for nonprofit ventures. 3. Apply relevant financial planning, decision-making, and working capital techniques to nonprofit organizations. 4. Use projection techniques to estimate future costs and revenues. 5. Recognize how the nonprofit legal form influences the organizational structure and capital acquisition.
