Course Description
In an era of accountability and increasing diversity in schools, school leaders are faced with the challenge of providing equitable learning opportunities for all students irrespective of their cultural memberships. This course offers students the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to become more culturally responsive as leaders.

Course Objectives
At the end of this course, students will be able to: A. Examine their own stated and implied assumptions, beliefs, values, and attitudes regarding race, gender, class, sexual orientation, ability, culture, language, etc., in order to become culturally competent school leaders. Help others engage in similar examinations in order to ensure that practices and policies support an equitable school environment. B. Develop the concept of moral, transformational, social justice, and transformative leadership and apply these theoretical principles in praxis. C. Recognize the underrepresented groups within their school communities and the historical and philosophical forces that have led to inequities, and critically analyze current conditions. D. Analyze their school context for the purpose of understanding issues of equity and justice through the tool of equity audits. E. Reflect on and evaluate their beliefs and understanding relative to leading schools with diverse student populations.
