Course Description
An overview of healthcare emergency management in health facility settings including an all-hazards approach to preparedness, planning, and response. The course will use real-life and hypothetical examples to illustrate how to apply hazard assessments, hazard vulnerability analyses, drills, and after-action reports for healthcare facilities.

Course Objectives
• Plan and develop an all-hazard approach to preparedness for healthcare facilities • Differentiate between hazard vulnerability analysis and hazard assessment in health facility settings. • Produce a generalized outline with specific sections and components of an after-action report. • Classify types of hazards a healthcare setting may potentially face. • Analyze the characteristics that distinguish among various hazard-types in a healthcare setting. • Design and define the roles and functions of hospital managers and other personnel in disasters and public health emergencies.
