Course Description

Review of basic grammar and study of more advanced grammatical topics. Oral proficiency, comprehension, and vocabulary building are emphasized. Includes reading and discussion of various Russian texts.

  • Students will enhance proficiency in written and spoken Russian by identifying and interpreting key ideas, details, and grammatical patterns in texts, dialogues, and multimedia resources.
  • Students will express ideas clearly in spoken and written Russian by composing statements with appropriate vocabulary, sentence structures, and cultural conventions across various topics, including personal biography, family, hobbies, and student life.
  • Students will interpret grammatical concepts accurately by incorporating verbal aspect, verbs of motion, case usage, and complex sentence structures in communication.
  • Students will participate in conversations with peers and native speakers by engaging in discussions, oral exercises, and written assignments that encourage active language use.
  • Students will explore Russian cultural norms and traditions by discussing perspectives, customs, and values while making connections to personal experiences.
