Course Objectives
This course consists of seminars given by students and guest faculty in the area of Materials Chemistry and Nanoscience. Student speakers will present a Literature Review or a Research Presentation. A passing grade for each of those is a departmental Ph.D. requirement. Students enrolled in the seminar will be exposed to a range of current topics in Materials Chemistry. As a part of this course, the qualities of a scientific presentation and the data presented will be critically examined. Student speakers will present current topics in Materials Chemistry and Nanoscience to a scientifically literate audience. Training in oral and visual presentations of analytical chemical research.
Topical Outline
Presentations in materials chemistry, polymer science, nanoscale characterizations, nanotechnology, and nanobiotechnology.
