Student learning Outcomes

  • Students will be able to identify and explain the health effects associated with exposure to various industrial agents as it relates to worker safety, and worker safety in disparate populations.
  • Students will be able to interpret data obtained through standard methods for measuring worker exposure to chemical and physical agents. And analyze it to write written reports and proposals to be presented to the class in formats for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Students will be able to conduct risk assessments for chemical and physical hazards in the workplace environment.
  • Students will be able to determine the health and safety standards necessary for diverse workplace environments. Using OSHA and other federal regulations.
  • Students will be able to analyze and assess approaches to controlling worker exposure to health and safety hazards in industrial settings. Students will be able to evaluate the performance characteristics and limitations of selected personal protective equipment.
  • Students will be able to conduct risk assessments for chemical and physical hazards in the workplace environment.
  • Students will be able to interpret regulations and laws that protect workers and discuss improvements and write potential amendments and modifications.
