Course Objectives
• To familiarize students with the J.M. Tull School of Accounting and its programs, introduce alternative career paths in accounting, and highlight career issues facing accounting professionals • To connect students with potential employers and student/professional accounting organizations • To improve students’ understanding and practical applications of interpersonal communications in business, both written and spoken

1. Developing professional correspondence writing skills (letters, memos, emails) 2. Developing interpersonal professional communications skills 3. Preparing for recruitment (interviewing, professional dress, greetings/introductions etiquette, dining etiquette, resumes, cover letters, and thank-you letters) 4. Developing written and interpersonal international/multicultural communications skills 5. Improving interpersonal communications and team skills through preparing a group video presentation 6. Developing virtual platform interview/conference/meeting skills 7. Exploring alternate career paths through presentations from non-public-firm recruiters from industry, government, and non-profit 8. Participating in networking activities through attendance at public-firm professional presentations and recruitment events 9. Introducing involvement/membership opportunities in professional accounting organizations
