Course Description

A continuation of Elementary German I. Development of the language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) in a cultural context with a focus on spoken German. Not open to native speakers.

Student Learning Outcomes

  • Students will identify the topic and related information on familiar topics from sentences and series of connected sentences within texts in spoken or written German.
  • Students will communicate in German in spontaneous spoken and written conversations on familiar and everyday topics, using simple sentences and questions most of the time.
  • Students will present information in German on both very familiar and everyday topics using simple sentences most of the time.
  • Students will identify products and practices in German-speaking cultures and compare some of these to help you understand cultural perspectives.
  • Students will interact with others in and from German-speaking cultures at a functional level in some familiar everyday contexts.

  • 3. What is there to see there? Tourist Attractions in Vienna.
