Course Objectives

The aim of the seminar is to help students acquire an in-depth historical and cultural appreciation of a literary topic. The seminar will be organized so as to allow discussion of a particular cultural, literary and/or historical issue.


Topical Outline

Readings will explore how various authors have addressed such complex issues as colonialism, "mestizaje", literacy, regionalism, ideology, politics, aesthetics, feminism and globalization, among others.
