Astrophysics II: Galaxies


Course Description

Components of galaxies, including stars and the interstellar medium, the Milky Way galaxy, external galaxies, and the formation and evolution of galaxies.

Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
They will be required to carry out an additional computational project or write a term paper.

Course Objectives

This course will introduce students to stellar systems and populations, the interstellar medium, and galactic astronomy. It provides an overview of the Milky Way and of the structure and evolution of galaxies.
