A continuation of Intermediate Spanish. Context-based review of Spanish grammar and systematic vocabulary and skill development. Integration of language, culture, and literature. Given in Spanish.

Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will understand “edited” narration from the instructor, from video components, and from classmates.
- Students will read and listen to authentic material from the popular press as well as literary pieces and understand the main points.
- Students will engage in dialogue with classmates and instructor about a variety of topics and situations in the past, present, future, and hypothetical situations; discuss daily activities, current and past events, give advice and suggestions, express hope and desire as well as judgment and feelings about different topics.
- Students will write descriptions, personal anecdotes, causes & effects, comparisons, and opinions while incorporating more sentence connectors to build longer discourse.
- Students will recognize and reflect upon concepts of Hispanic culture and Hispanic people in the USA and other topics and events of general interest from a Hispanic perspective. Some of these topics may include social issues, environmental and ecological issues, history, urban development, and international/governmental affairs. The student is expected to be able to discuss these topics within a comparative and contrastive framework with their own cultural background.
- Students will apply language skills and understandings to bring a global competence to your future career and life experiences as emphasized by the 5Cs (Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities) of ACTFL standards.
