Course Objectives
The aim of the seminar is to help students acquire an in-depth historical and cultural appreciation of a literary topic. The seminar will be organized so as to allow discussion of a particular cultural, literary, and/or historical issue.
Topical Outline
Each seminar session will focus on a period or problem based on the research specialty of the faculty member who will lead it. Among the potential topics are Early-modern Spanish "comedias" and "auto-sacramentales", theatre of colonial Mexico and Peru, Spanish American experimental theater, Spanish American and Iberian Film, and Identity as Performance.
