Course will be taught by the visiting Max Kade Foundation Writer-in-Residence or Filmmaker-in-Residence. Course is focused on a topic of their choice, usually involving their own work, though not exclusively. Taught in German.

Course Objectives

In this course, students develop a relationship with a contemporary German-speaking writer or filmmaker, in residence in Athens during the whole of the spring semester. Students gain direct insight into an individual artistic process/vision, as well as a view from the inside of the contemporary cultural scene in Germany (or Austria or Switzerland). While the particular topics studied will be up to the writer/filmmaker, the course will develop all four language skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) through classroom engagement and written assignments.
