Course Objectives
The principal objective of this course is to provide students with a set of practical tools and skills that can be applied to a variety of analytical questions and situations. Students are expected to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of regression analysis, as well proficiency in the computer application of regression techniques. This includes learning which techniques are most appropriate for different types of data and situations, how to diagnose and interpret results, and how to use statistical software (SPSS and STATA). Students will demonstrate their proficiency in a series of computer assignments, and by developing an original quantitative research paper on a topic of their choice.
