Non-Traditional Format
Community health field experience/internship under the supervision of a health professional who has been approved by the department. Student compiles a work "diary" and a portfolio of professional activities and submits a final written report about the experience. Students spend 50 hours in the field for each hour of credit earned.

Student learning Outcomes
The student will be able to examine the structure and functions of the participating agency.
The student will be able to learn to function effectively in an agency environment with existing staff members and administrators.
The student will be able to learn to apply the elements of basic program planning, implementation, and evaluation while developing and/or participating in a project that is consistent with the goals and functions of the host agency.
The student will be able to learn to develop and refine communication skills through direct participation and contact with agency clients.
The student will be able to learn to be of service to the community partner.
