Special Topics in Biomedical Physiology


Course Description

Topics will vary by semester and instructor. This course allows faculty to cover timely, advanced topics of special interest to physiology students and may include seminars, discussions, and readings related to the topic of interest.

Non-Traditional Format

Credit hours for the course will be determined in accordance with university guidance of one hour of in-class work per week for one semester being equivalent to one credit. Two or sometimes three hours of laboratory work are considered the equivalent of one hour of class work.


Prerequisite

(BIOL 1108 or BIOL 2108H) and (BIOL 1108L or BIOL 2108L)

Course Objectives

This is a special topics course that allows students to investigate advanced topics relevant to physiology. Course objectives and learning outcomes will vary by topic and by faculty member.


Topical Outline

The intent is to provide a flexible course that accommodates diverse student and faculty interests. Course content may include written and oral communication of topics, critical reading and analysis of the scientific literature, and exploration of new career options. The Topical Outline will vary by course.
