Parallel Processing and Computational Science


Course Description

Topics include computer architectures, interconnection networks, basic concepts in parallel computing, parallel algorithms, matrix multiplications, solving systems of equations, parallel direct and iterative methods, programming on different parallel architectures, and applications.

Course Objectives

Students will learn methods for solving scientific problems On distributed systems. They will design and implement algorithms for solving real problems on distributed systems. Students will learn how to check the efficiency of their algorithms.
