Course focuses on the bridge between basic and applied behavior analysis. Students will work through several topics, tracing the basic roots, discussing behavioral mechanisms underlying each topic, and finishing with a discussion of its utility in clinical contexts.

Relapse: Evaluation of variables that lead to or mitigate the re-emergence of behavior following response extinction/reduction
Response Variability: Evaluation of the variables that allow for and promote response variability
Persistence: Evaluation of variables that increase response strength, resulting in persistent operant behavior
Behavioral Economics: Investigation of how response requirement and reinforcement magnitude combine to impact response allocation
