Leadership in the Global Marketplace


Course Description

Exploration of the various aspects of business leadership on a global level through a study abroad trip. Specifically, students will study leadership principles from a global perspective and then apply them to solve real-world problems and issues through a class project.

This is a spring break study away course, so there will be an orientation in February and a series of pre-departure seminars leading up to the departure.

Student Learning Outcomes

  • Students will be able to understand current global leadership issues and the activities of international business organizations and focus on the importance of values-based leadership in other cultures.
  • Students will be able to understand intercultural and interpersonal awareness and respect, and thus the students’ abilities to interact sensitively and responsibly within other cultures will be enhanced.
  • Students will be able to lead competently, confidently, and independently in a different cultural environment.
