• Students will understand how to apply research methods within educational contexts, specifically student affairs and higher education settings, practice, and leadership.
• Students will understand how to design a research study plan and proposal.
• Students will understand how to develop an introduction, literature review, and methodology for a student affairs leadership dissertation.
• Students will understand how to argue and defend the worthiness and soundness of the study by developing a prospectus defense.
• Students will understand how to obtain any necessary IRB trainings.
• Students will understand how to develop an IRB proposal for the study.
• Students will understand how to devise strategies for developing and maintaining a consistent writing habit.
