Course Description
Course facilitates the development of competencies in diagnosis using the DSM-5 to assess, diagnose, and treat major mental health issues. Relational assessment to identify and assess psychopathology and relational functioning across the lifespan, including addiction, suicide, trauma, abuse, intra-familial violence, and managing acute chronic medical conditions, utilizing CFT philosophy.

Student learning Outcomes
Students will complete a comprehensive assessment, identify symptoms/symptom formation using the DSM 5-TR, formulate diagnoses, differential diagnoses, and articulate treatment recommendations.
Students will understand the biopsychosocial contributions and effects of psychopathology within families.
Students will conduct relational assessment using both observational data as well as established instruments.
Students will understand the influence of age, gender, culture, economics, and sexual orientation on psychopathology and the assessment of psychopathology throughout the life span.
