Student learning Outcomes

  • Students will be able to reflect on personal experiences with curriculum design.
  • Students will be able to read, critique, discuss, and present scholarly publications related to curriculum theory in art and art education.
  • Students will be able to identify and critically analyze curriculum topics and theories of interest that are relevant for contemporary contexts.
  • Students will be able to engage in critical dialogue through seminar discussions, in writing, and/or artmaking.
  • Students will be able to conceptualize and produce advanced curriculum and present it using a variety of strategies and processes.

  • Read and write about, critique, discuss, and create curriculum theory
  • Apply curriculum theory to advanced pedagogical approaches in specific contexts
  • Through class presentations, peer discussion, creative problem-solving, and or artmaking, students will develop skills in designing curriculum that is innovative and relevant
