Course Objectives

Knowledge •Develop an understanding of the complex relationship of people and the environment •Understand major issues and human dimensional aspects of various human-environmental settings Skills •Demonstrate the ability to discuss the subject area through various frames, such as settings (garden, home, street), human evolution, particular groups’ needs (elderly, children, ethnic groups), and power dimensions (economics, environmental justice), and gender Values •Gain a critical understanding of normative theories that influence landscape architecture •Challenge to address ethnical debates related to inclusion, participation, diversity, and sustainability
