Course Objectives
Course Objectives CHEM 1411L A. Understand how to collect, analyze, and assimilate experimental laboratory data using traditional wet chemical techniques B. Understand how to collect, analyze, and assimilate experimental laboratory data using electronic analytical devices such as pH meters, thermistors, spectrometers, and colorimeters C. Use spreadsheet software to graph and analyze electronically accumulated data D. Use e-mail and web resources to evaluate collected data E. Write at least two formal lab procedures F. Write at least two formal lab reports G. Devise two laboratory experiments based upon the techniques and procedures presented during the course of the semester H. Perform one end of semester lab practical

Determining the formula weight of a compound. 5. Application of Hess’s Law 6. Identifying Inorganic Compounds by their inter-chemical reactions. 7. Identifying metals via flame emission analysis. 8. Acid-base titrations. 9. Self Directed-Skills Analysis Experiments (Student write procedures to solve a complex problem).
