Course Description

In an era where technology and digital platforms shape dissemination of scientific knowledge, clear and effective science writing is essential. In this course, students will learn conventions of science writing, gain AI literacy and ethical insights, and develop information literacy skills necessary to effectively communicate scientific ideas to diverse audiences.

Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students in this course will be expected to complete either one addition writing assignment that covers the same topic of their final writing product but addresses a different audience OR their final writing product must be at least 5 pages longer than the required minimum. In addition, graduate students will also present their final writing product to the class using a visual medium of their choosing

  • Students will apply their scientific writing and information literacy skills to create a multi-faceted science writing project that speaks to diverse audiences.
