Student Learning Outcomes

  • By the end of this course, students should be able to identify, understand, and describe the theoretical and practical aspects of social psychology from a historical and modern perspective.
  • By the end of this course, students should be able to understand how human behavior, cognitive thoughts and beliefs, and societal environment influence people as a whole (individual or group).
  • By the end of this course, students should be able to understand the research methods utilized in social psychology and the various implications these tools have towards the individual and society.
  • By the end of this course, students should be able to identify and evaluate the complicated relationship science has with pop culture, specifically from a social cognitive perspective.
  • By the end of this course, students should be able to critically evaluate research findings in empirical journal articles and popular press outlets.
  • By the end of this course, students should be able to apply relevant theories and constructs to real-life situations.
