Course Description

Introductory course on AI literacy for public health and other health sciences students. Covers AI history, its evolution, key concepts, and latest applications in medicine, public health, and other health sciences. Students will gain foundational understanding and hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs).

  • Students will be able to describe the history of Artificial Intelligence and its integration into public health, medicine, and related areas.
  • Students will be able to explain current implementations of AI in public health and other health sciences, citing real-world examples from research and practice.
  • Students will be able to interact with state-of-the-art LLMs for basic applications.
  • Students will be able to explain ethical considerations when using AI in health.
