Course Objectives

Students will build up knowledge of elementary-level vocabulary and grammar in Korean for a variety of verbal and written communications.

W 1: introduction to Hangul, basic consonants and vowels W 2: glottalized and aspirated consonants W 3: final consonants and complex vowels W 4: copular (to be), pronouns for people, topic particles W 5: pronouns for objects, question form W 6: adjectival phrase W 7: location verb and particles W 8: location verb (polite form), comitative particle W 9: verb negation, possession verb, time particle W 10: time (hour), Korean numbers, honorific speech W 11: action verbs, location particle W 12: Sino-Korean numbers, time (minutes), date W 13: adjectival verbs W 14: irregular adjectival verb forms W 15: past tense (plain and honorific forms)
