Course Objectives
The overall objective of this course is to familiarize graduate students with issues related to the practice of school psychology and delivery of psychological services in a variety of settings, with an emphasis on school-based services. Students will understand the historical influences on the profession as well as current trends in school service delivery. Federal statutes, civil rights legislation, and state regulations will be discussed as they relate to school-based services. A variety of roles for school psychologists within schools will be emphasized so as to familiar students with diverse service delivery options.
