Digital Workflows

Course Description

Builds on basic digital graphics fundamentals, streamlining techniques, and workflows to gain a thorough understanding of when and why certain programs are used. Analog and digital methods are explored as complements to one another, with a digital emphasis on integrated CAD, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketchup workflows.

Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students are expected to research digital workflows, either expanding on a current digital workflow covered in the course or identifying a new digital workflow used by landscape architects and design professionals, and prepare a lab on this workflow with step-by-step instructions and software screenshots. Graduate students will then be required to present this lab to the class. Additionally, graduate students are required to organize and lead small group discussion sessions throughout the semester. These topic-specific sessions will focus on workflows discussed in class. The graduate students will be required to take notes during each session to be distributed to the class.
