Marine Fisheries Biology


Course Description

Interaction of oceanographic processes with the life histories and productivity of marine fisheries species, and the human interactions with major marine fisheries.

Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will be required to write a 10-15 page term paper on a current problem in marine fisheries, which will integrate the subdisciplines of marine fisheries, and present the material to the class.

Course Objectives

A survey course for upper division undergraduates and graduate students that links the interaction of life histories, oceanograhic process, fisheries prductivity and humans in management of major US and world seafood production. Graduate students will be required to write a 15 page term paper and present it to the class.
