Course Description
Cultural (racial, ethnic, linguistic) diversity in the adult educational context. Topics include cultural self-awareness, demographic changes and projections, problems/issues in inter-cultural educational settings, theoretical perspectives of multicultural adult education, practical problems and related strategies in handling diversity in adult education settings.

Course Objectives
The course will enable students to: 1) develop an understanding of their own cultural background and critically reflect on the underlying values, beliefs, and biases including one’s cultural background on the educational process; 2) develop an awareness and understanding of conceptual models and frameworks to guide multicultural adult education practice; 3) develop specific skills for educators of adults to respond to cultural diversity in adult instructional settings.
