Course Objectives

To understand and use correctly the basic vocabulary of energy and lighting. To develop and understanding of the importance of light, both electrical and daylight, and the impact it has on the human psychology and physiology. To develop and understanding of the importance of analyzing lighting needs and requirements. To develop an understanding of lighting calculations. To develop skills in graphically communicating lighting designs. To demonstrate an understanding of course concepts through examination and/or projects.
