Student Learning Outcomes

  • Students will analyze major artistic developments in Italy from the fourteenth through the sixteenth centuries, in relation to broader cultural and historical contexts.
  • Students will evaluate and compare the styles, techniques, and innovations of key artists including Giotto, Lorenzetti, Donatello, Masaccio, Angelico, Botticelli, Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo.
  • Students will interpret and critique selected works of Renaissance art through written assignments, demonstrating the ability to connect formal analysis with historical and cultural significance.
