Students will hone skills in identifying and defining design problems based on given topics and prompts.
Students will learn to think flexibly and creatively to produce visual communication design outcomes, experiences, and artifacts in relevant media related to contemporary design practice.
Students will develop and execute visual content and outcomes that align with strategic communication goals, considers specific viewers and/or users, and demonstrates an understanding of how design can convey messages, engage audiences, and achieve specific objectives.

Topical Outline
Students complete comprehensive design projects throughout the semester that span diverse media and platforms relevant to the evolving landscape of contemporary communication design. Class time consists of lectures, demonstration, discussion, research, exploration, and execution, along with group and individual feedback. Emphasis is on further development and application of conceptual, formal, and technical competencies using a variety of media, fabrication techniques, and materials.
