An investigation of illustration plate layout and design, working from a publisher's specifications, the production of illustrations for portfolio, business identity design, and business practices.

  • Students will develop advanced skills in page layout and design using strict guidelines of publisher specifications.
  • Students will learn and apply business ethics and practices of self-promotion, proposal and project bidding, and cost analysis.
  • Students will develop portfolio-ready illustrations.
  • Students will learn to make professional presentations of their work.
  • Students will learn to engage in critical academic discussion at studio critiques occurring regularly throughout the semester.
