Course Description
Liability risks facing businesses and the effective management of these risks with insurance. Practical application of liability insurance to pure risk exposures, including motor vehicle liability, professional and general liability, environmental liability, employment practices and workers' compensation, and fiduciary liability.

Course Objectives
This course is an advanced study of commercial liability insurance and risk management. It will cover the major liability exposures faced by organizations as well as methods of treating these exposures, with an emphasis on insurance approaches. Areas covered include general liability, auto, marine and aircraft liability, professional liability, directors and officers liability, and pollution liability, among others. While the emphasis is on analyzing insurance coverages, noninsurance risk management techniques will also be discussed. For all students, the objective of the course is to gain a thorough understanding of commercial liability insurance and risk management. An additional objective is to prepare interested students to take and pass the CPCU 4 exam in June.
