Course Objectives

This course is designed to prepare art educators for supervisory roles. Students explore the concept or supervision in art education through readings, personal interviews and written reflections. They acquire the skills to enable them to observe the teaching of others, to provide appropriate feedback and to facilitate further professional development.


Topical Outline

Students explore effective teaching through readings and personal reflection. They interview others in supervisory capacities and engage in supervisory exercises in real world settings. They apply what they discover to the supervision of art through a final research paper on a topic of personal interest.
