Course Objectives
After taking this course, students should be better able to: 1. Express a complex understanding of what is meant by culture and how it transacts with literacy in our lives and, particularly, in classrooms. 2. Apply those understandings to literacy pedagogy, professional learning, policy, and research. 3. Construct theoretical frameworks and arguments regarding linguistic and cultural theory. 4. Synthesize these understandings into new pedagogy, professional learning, policy, and research.
