Course Objectives

The major purpose of the agency experience is to provide students with meaningful exposure to various facets of their agencies' operations, in order to allow them to learn about criminal justice in action while performing work beneficial to the agencies. It offers an opportunity for the intern to observe the agency's organization from an insider's perspective, to interact with agency personnel and clients, and to participate in some of the work of the agency. These agency experiences may assist a student in assessing career options while allowing him or her to compare and contrast academic knowledge about criminal justice with its clinical application in the field.
