Course Description
Exploration of the dynamics of leading in the complex situations of current military operations. Cadets examine differences in customs and courtesies, military law, principles of war, and rules of engagement in the face of international terrorism. Aspects of interacting with non-government organizations, civilians on the battlefield, and host nation support are examined and evaluated.

Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: Develop subordinate leaders. Apply motivational principles to troop leading procedures. Conduct coaching and counseling sessions with cadets. Provide feedback to an MS III cadet on a LDAC readiness plan. Perform a performance review session with a cadet using a CER form. Prepare for first unit of assignment duties in complex environment. Apply basic principles of Law of Land Warfare and Rules of Engagement. Enforce Army customs and courtesies. Conduct a military briefing. Write garrison operation orders. Prepare a personal management plan for finances and family advocacy. Develop a personal budget. Write a basic financial management plan. Describe key elements of the Army Family Team Building (AFTB) program. Identify the challenges families face during separation or deployment.
