Course Objectives
1. Students will develop business and leadership skills while contributing to a sport organization. 2. Students will evaluate their potential as a sport business practitioner who can positively contribute to this organization and to the sport industry in general. 3.Students will develop and improve their communication skills, and other skills necessary for a career in the sport industry such as team building, effective listening, cooperative decision making, accepting and using constructive criticism and feedback from supervisors.
Topical Outline
1. Complete 3-18 hours per week (depending on credit hours selected) of service at a practicum site. 2. Complete a detailed description of job responsibilities. 3. Keep a detailed weekly journal outlining specific assignments, major projects, and events completed. This journal should also involve a section informing how this practicum related to content knowledge obtained in curriculum requirements.
