Students will attend seminars featuring guest speakers, faculty presentations, and peer-led discussions that highlight the latest advancements and interdisciplinary connections within the geosciences.
Students will gain a deeper understanding of the diverse and interconnected subfields of geoscience, enhance their ability to critically engage with current literature, and strengthen their ability to communicate scientific ideas effectively.
Students will be able to use critical thinking and academic discourse as participants evaluate current research methodologies, analyze scientific data, and explore the implications of new discoveries on both the scientific community and society.
Students will have a broad understanding of of current topics in geology, including but not limited to, mineralogy, petrology, tectonics, geophysics, geochemistry, paleontology, environmental geology, and climate science.
