Active involvement in the life of a Pre-K-5th grade classroom, including experience with planning, teaching, and assessing integrated lessons as well as organizing and guiding classroom learning communities.

Course Objectives
To be actively engaged in the life of a Pre-K-5th grade classroom, assisting with teaching individuals, small groups, and whole-class lessons To plan and teach individual lessons and an integrated unit of study To gain knowledge of curriculum process and content in general and integrative/lesson planning in particular To gain knowledge of approaches to differentiating instruction in classrooms serving diverse students from Pre-K-5th grade To learn to conduct assessments and use them to inform planning and teaching To learn techniques and skills for effective classroom organization and building and guiding classroom learning communities To learn how to effectively engage parents and other community resources To demonstrate professional dispositions for teaching in Pre-K- 5th-grade classrooms
