Selection, utilization, and evaluation of strategies that support effective teaching in workforce education.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
In consultation with the instructor of the course, the graduate student will propose and prepare a scholarly work that demonstrates their knowledge of the course content and related policies and practices.

Course Objectives
1. Identify effective teaching in career and technical education. 2. Describe the difference between teacher characteristics and teacher competence. 3. Demonstrate an understanding of the connections between the content that was learned by a student previously, the current content, and the content that remains to be learned in the future. 4. Create or select teaching methods, learning activities, and instructional materials or other resources that are appropriate for the students in a career and technical education program and that are aligned with the goals of a lesson. 5. Monitor students' understanding of contnet through a variety of means, providing feedback to students to assist learning, and adjusting learning activities as the situation demands. 6. Identify how students differ in their approaches to leanring and create instructional opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners. 7. Identify formal and informal assessment strategies to evaluate the continuous intellectual, social, and physical development of the learner in career and technical education. 8. Become a reflective practioner who contiually evaluates the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (students, parents, and other professionals in the learning community) and who actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally.
